Google, Sundar Pichai, Alphabet and are the buzzing words in the world now. What happened to Google and what  is Alphabet?

Google’s CEO Larry Page has announced the creation of a holding company, Alphabet and made himself its CEO while other Co Founder Sergey Brin is its President. The portal for alphabet is Alphabet  Inc will become the holding company of Google Inc and will replace it in the stock market. Share holders will get same number of Alphabet

Non core IT divisions like Calico and Life Sciences will be taken away from Google and will live as subsidiaries to Alphabet like Google. This powers Alphabet to have strong and separate CEO for each businesses.

Page has appointed Sundar Pichai, a 43-year-old IIT Kharagpur alumni from Chennai as CEO for the truncated Google. He Joined them in 2004 and was in charge of product and engineering responsibility for their internet business. Page quoted “Sundar has been saying the things I would have said (and sometimes better!) for quite some time now, and I’ve been tremendously enjoying our work together”.

The founders feel that this move will liberate them into new thoughts and let to scale newer heights. They are also planning for drone deliveries and ventures and capitals.
